Pu-erh & Digestion

According to Barb Thomas, RHN, founder of Love2Eat Nutritional Consulting, www.love2eat.ca/index.php/about-us, it’s a fact that:
“Digestion takes more energy than anything else your body does.”
Gentle to the stomach, Pu-erh tea is known in Chinese medicine as a good fat cleanser after eating heavy greasy food. Pu-erh has been shown to help enhance fat metabolism. Both green and pu-erh teas seem to bond to the cholesterol, retarding absorption as it goes through the digestive tract. This means the body does not absorb the fat even though it was eaten. Although there are not as many studies specifically on Pu-erh tea, the one's that have been done have shown marked reductions in cholesterol.

At Elixir Fine Tea, www.elixirfinetea.com, our blend of organic Pu-erh Ginger has the zesty notes of orange and ginger complementing the rich, smooth flavours of a Yunnan Pu-erh
