Canadian Tea Facts

According to data from the Tea Association of Canada in May 2008, some interesting tea facts for Canada:

*Canadians drink almost 9 billion cups of tea each year;
In 2007, the Canadian tea market was worth about $388 million;
Restaurants in Canada served 351,644,000 cups of Hot Tea in the 12 months (May 2006 - May 2007);
*Household purchases of tea are growing faster among households who associate Hot Tea with health benefits (up 5.2% in 2007 vs. 2006);
*5.5% of all perceived healthy meal occasions include Hot Tea
Hot tea is the #3 "perceived healthy" beverage after tap water and diet soft drinks.
*In 2007, the per capita consumption of tea in Canada was 61.4 litres. That equates to 270 cups for each Canadian.

Note that in the Unites States, the average is about 170 cups per capita - do the Canadians know something that their neighbours don't? Perhaps we just got it right in Canada, tea is yummy, healthy and functionally versatile (in more than a culinary way).

A safe, easy way to enhance or maintain personal growth, and to connect authentically with new people. Please come early so you can try some fine tea, and we can start right at 6:30 pm. Blending Breakfast

Less talk - More hands on! Join us for breakfast, and learn how to blend your very own breakfast tea!
You will start with a healthy, energy packed Green Tea Yogurt with Organic Apricot and Superberries paired with a frothy chai. Then we will explore the components and savour the nuances of a breakfast blend. Roll up your sleeves and blend your own Breakfast blend. Before you return home with a bag of your own signature breakfast blend, you get to enjoy your own creation, accompanied with fresh baked bread and cinnamon honey.

Tea & Chocolate Pairing

Fine tea or fine chocolate on its own is already delicious. Pairing the two delectables can be just simply irresistable. Selective pairing of fine teas and Belgian Callebaut chocolates (from Sweetly Speaking) can let you experience flavour profiles that surprise you. Come join us and explore.
